John Inskeep House: Weed Warriors Attack!
On October 26th, a beautiful, cool autumn day, the weed warriors gathered for the end of the season Herb Garden cleanup! Charlotte A , Sharon A, Tina M , Barbara R, and Joanne Y (not pictured is our photographer Claire S and Barb C who had to leave a little early).
Next Spring, parsley, dill, fennel and rue are among herbs belonging to the carrot family that may find a place in the herb garden. These herbs are important for the young Black Swallowtail caterpillars, indigenous to NJ and our State butterfly. Consider adding plants from the carrot family to your own garden. Visit outside the Burlington Co Agricultural Center to see these perennials with caterpillars chomping away. Join our Weed Warrior Group.
Director of Community Beautification, Barbara DC presented her report at the October meeting. Barb praised our GCM volunteers who have been providing the Evesham Library with monthly seasonal silk floral arrangements for many years. Each member who donated a library arrangement over the past 12 months, received a floral gift to take home. These very pretty flower arrangements were a GCM "thank you" to the individuals active in the program.
The next time you visit the Evesham Library to pick out your favorite book or attend a workshop, take a peek to enjoy the floral arrangement.
We appreciate the library staff and visitors who welcome the flowers every month with a smile. Click below to bring a little sunshine to your day.
