Three GCM members were awarded Perennial Bloom Awards for the 2023-2024 GCM year in recognition of the outstanding contributions they have made to the club.
LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT
Sharon A
Sharon has been a member of our garden club for so long that the membership records we have don’t go back that far.
She served as President of the Club for four years from 2013 to 2017; has been Co-Chair or a committee member for
Fundraising – which she still calls Ways & Means – for over a decade; and for just as long has been Civic Development Chair, taking care of the community gardens around the town. She is an official "weed warrior", pulling weeds to be replaced with wonderful, perennials, herbs, and native plants.
MOST VALUABLE PLAYER-TWO WINNERS
Charlotte A
Charlotte joined the garden club during the 2017-2018 club year and immediately signed up to serve on the
C i v i c D e v e l o p m e n t
Committee, which at the time covered all the gardens and community pots that the club was responsible for. She’s been a huge help with the club’s fundraising efforts, selling tickets at the luncheons for years, and generously donating multiple wonderful raffle baskets for each event every year.
MOST VALUABLE PLAYER-TWO WINNERS (cont'd)
Claire S
Claire joined the garden club in spring of 2016 and a little over a year later, she would commit to serving on the Board as Co-Chair with Phyllis for Hospitality, a job she is still doing today. Hospitality members require a sunny disposition and the patience from above. They corral and cajole members with the patience of a saint. Everyone is assigned to a month for hosting duties, and that's a little like herding cats.
Claire recruits so many other club members to be volunteers for our semi-annual raffle of baskets. It is a major
fundraiser, and Claire is always there to sell tickets, assist the announcers, or do anything that needs doing.
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THREE OF OUR WINNERS FOR 2024
They exemplify the talents and dedication that our membership has shown throughout the years in serving the Marlton community.
Each winner was awarded a gift certificate and a beautiful flowering Aster plant to bring beauty to their homes for years to come.
Thank you for the many contributions you have made and the ones we know are still to come!
