The December 7th home tour sold over 1200 tickets, but there were no waiting lines to visit the homes. We made the Boutique at the Surf City Firehouse our last stop and arrived too late for the cookie and greens sale, but did browse 10 vendors who were still selling their wares
This home in Beach Haven was an empty lot facing Webster Lagoon until the current owner saw its potential. It’s now a luxury home with a magnificent water view. Much of the house is decorated in white and green. The tree on the kitchen counter is created by artfully stacking cookbooks and decorating them with greens and potted plants, with a sprouting bulb as the topper. The pink-and-white ballerina-themed Christmas tree in the dance studio has an all-white oversized nutcracker standing beside it.
One stop on the tour was a historic Quaker sanctuary built in the 1800s as a side-by-side twin home. Now beautifully upgraded as a single-family home, the Beach Haven house was decorated in a vintage fashion befitting its heritage, with a bit of whimsy that included Santa’s jacket, pants, and hat in the laundry room. The bench with wrapped presents and a lantern sits outside on the porch.
