Thanks to everyone who came out for the garden club’s Tree Dedication Ceremony on a damp – but dry – Saturday morning in September to officially dedicate the five native trees the garden club donated for London Square Park.
Amidst a gathering of local residents and club members who applauded and cheered, GCM President Carol Otte Prince, Evesham Township Mayor Jackie Veasy, and Mike Jacob of the Native Plant Society of New Jersey together used a pair of giant oversized scissors to cut a ceremonial red ribbon that stretched over the walkway between two native Sweet Bay Magnolia trees.
An Evesham Township police officer poses with the garden club president, Mayor Veasy and Councilwoman Heather Esposito next to one of the native Sweet Bay Magnolia trees.
